Olive Grove Retreat

HLA designed this intimate and timeless space for the 2008 San Francisco Garden Show. A sunken elliptical sitting area nestled amongst a grove of ancient olive trees provides respite and retreat from the cares of the modern world. With a scale ideally suited for relaxed and intimate conversations, this modern design was envisioned as the perfect picnic spot for a romantic couple or a small group of friends. A steel runnel of recirculating water cuts through the bench top and drops into the sunken gravel center.
