Huettl Landscape Architecture Lantern House 1

Lantern House

This new modern home deserved a clean modern landscape. To soften the driveway expanse, a dynamic pattern of linear concrete pads with black pebble dividers cuts across the space and melds into the front entry walk. The spaces are further defined and softened by walls and planting. The language of rectangular pads unifies the landscape by continuing it throughout the property in differing, yet appropriate shapes and sizes. Repeating the theme at the front yard, low site walls further define the spaces to create backyard destinations such as a garden bench surrounding a fire pit or as a support for a wood bench.
